The Ivorian forests, including the State's protected areas and classified forests, are subject to anthropogenic pressures leading to their continuous degradation. For example, the Monogaga classified forest was subject to continuous degradation from 1986 to 2013. The present study aims to show the contribution of socio-economic activities in the dynamics of degradation of this forest. Moreover, the methodology adopted in this study combined satellite image processing techniques, direct observation techniques and data collection. The study shows that several socio-economic activities are carried out in this forest massif. These include agricultural activities and informal activities. In summary, the inappropriate classification of this forest combined with several weaknesses at the State level resulted in a loss of 83.5% of its initial area during this period.
