Green spaces are an essential component of the human habitat because beyond their aesthetic quality, green spaces are places of recreation and relaxation for the population. The green spaces of the municipality of Yopougon are far from this reality. This study aims to analyse the transformation in the occupation of green spaces in Yopougon. The methodological approach is based on the use of data from the RGPH-INS, the BNETD and field surveys. The results show that 38.1% of the green spaces are occupied by informal economic activities of the food (58.1%) and non-food (41.9%) types. 51% of the local populations declare that they live in insecurity in relation to the diversion of the occupation of green spaces; 47% of them complain about the inconvenience caused to them by the nuisances resulting from the activities carried out there; 52% are pleased with the strong attractiveness of their living environment in relation to green spaces.
